It is not by accident
that you are reading this story. I am so excited to tell
you about God who loves us and is in charge of
everything, the big things and the little things too
I am a 56 year old high school teacher. Ten years ago I
was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent surgery,
radiation and chemotherapy. For eight years I was cancer
free. One day in the fall of 2002 I had difficulty
stepping on my right leg. After several doctors and
tests I
was told that the same cancer now metastasized to my bones, mainly
my spine. Rapidly my health deteriorated to stage IV cancer and I
thought I was going to die. My blood test would normally read 40
but it was 1,500.
I was devastated. I have just learned how to walk closer with God.
I have just prayed the Jabez Prayer, how could this happen? I
cried out to God and asked for His grace and mercy. I asked Him to
extend my life. I knew if I died I would spend eternity with Him
but I wanted to walk with Him on this side of heaven for a longer
time. He answered my prayer. I don't know where or from whom, but
I got Psalm 118:17 as a verse to claim. I was shocked by it's
boldness the first time I read it. "I will not die but live, and
will proclaim what the Lord has done."
It was not an instantaneous healing but by the grace of God I
taught full time last year and I am going back to teach again this
year. There were some hard days and some glorious days. My
friends took me to the Santa Maria healing room where I learned
that Jesus died not only to redeem me from my sins but from my
illness too. Jesus died to restore all of me, my body, soul and
spirit. On another occasion in 2004, Bill Hitt* prayed to deliver
me from a terrible back pain. That was an instant healing. I can hardly remember what the pain felt like.
In conclusion, I just want to tell you that God is a loving,
awesome God who gives good things to his children. I claim his
promises daily and walk with him one day at a time.
God bless you,
Marta Williams
